To kick off
the Christmas season, Mommy, Daddy and I went to the Christmas Lights
Display. Last year all I did was sit
bundled in my stroller and look around.
This year I got to run around and check everything out for myself. I spent so much time running around that
Mommy and Daddy couldn’t get a clear picture of me (so I apologize in advance for
the blurry pictures!)
One unseasonably warm and sunny Saturday in December we did something I've never done before - pick out a Christmas tree! We went for a walk, then went to the Boy Scout sale and picked out the one we (I) wanted to take home. Of course, I had to make sure I checked out all of them, just in case.
When we got home, Mommy put lights on the tree while I wasn't looking. Once it started getting dark, the tree was turned on and I was enchanted! First, I explored the lights...
On Sunday it was cold and rainy, so Mommy brought out a "craft" for me - I got to make my own ornaments! Once I was done, I got to hang them on the tree myself.
Of course, no Christmas tree decorating weekend is complete without a little Christmas dancing...
Santa's Chairlift
While cleaning out the basement, Mommy found an old Christmas decoration we never actually used. To see if it worked, Daddy set it up on the back deck. I don't know if this will ever make it to the front yard for future Christmases, but I loved it!
Christmas
Santa was really good to me this year! Unlike last year, I now totally understand the idea of "presents". I had such a blast! I got on a roll ripping apart paper, and all the boxes had such wonderful pictures on them that I could never decide which I wanted to do - play with what I just opened or tear into the next one!
Snow!
While we were in PA, it started snowing. I took advantage of the opportunity and went outside to play! It was cold, but totally worth it!
Mystery Gift!
A few days after Christmas I got a gift in the mail. It was a really fun Wonder Pets "search and find" book. I love it! Unfortunately, it just came in a plain box, with no receipt or any message from who sent it. I think it was from Santa, but Mommy said it's probably from one of Santa's Elves. If you recognize the present, please speak up so we can see who's right!
My Second Birthday
After the excitement of the holidays, Mommy and Daddy thought that it would be nice to have a calm, quiet birthday. We spent the day just relaxing and playing at home - I didn't even take my PJs off for almost the whole day!
After a quick trip to the park, Mommy surprised me with my very own Cuppy-cakes! Even though Mommy missed being able to video my happy dance (where I spun in circles and shouted "cuppy-cake! Cuppy-cake! Yay!" She did get a bunch of pictures of my enjoying my treat. I have to say, they were super yummy!
I also got to celebrate my birthday with my friends from Daycare. Ms. Ilana was really brave and suggested that rather than bringing in cupcakes that were already made, Mommy should bring in the ingredients so we could make them ourselves. The process was rather messy, but I had a total blast!
"Second" Christmas
Unfortunately Pop-Pop had the flu for Christmas, so we postponed the celebration for a while. A few weeks after Christmas we headed up to NJ to say Merry belated) Christmas! Even though it was SUPER cold, Mommy, Daddy, Pop-Pop and I got to go to this really big play park. It was loads and loads of fun!
Random Hijinks and Shennanigans
In between all of the "big" events of the Winter, I've made sure to fit in lots of good old fashioned fun!
Birdie and squirrel watching
As I've said before, one of my favorite pasttimes is watching the goings-on out on the back deck. Mommy will put out bird food, then we just sit back and watch the show!
Sometimes though, I get so excited about seeing the animals that I just run up to the door to say hi. I've learned that this scares the birdies away! :( So, to keep the birdies from flying away, Daddy taught me how to crawl on my belly so I can sneak up on them.
Of course, the floor can be cold... and Daddy is way more comfy anyway!

Planes, trains, and other assorted Vehicles.
I've been on a real "Vehicles" kick lately. Doesn't matter what it is, it if drives, flies, or floats, I dig it! :)

**WARNING: The train in the next video plays (what I think is) a great version of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". Mommy calls it "extremely loud and jarring" (which is obviously what makes it so great!) Anyway, you may want to turn the sound down before playing the video, just in case you decide you agree with Mommy instead of me.

Snuggling with the Cat
Well, it started as snuggling. Then it turned into me playing matchbox cars with Harper. Well, me using Harper as a race track, and Harper being wonderful and letting me.

Yes, that's a matchbox car I'm racing on Harper's back. |

Thanks for the apron and glasses Uncle Shane and Aunt Katie! This game wouldn't be the same without them! |

Homemade mini-golf
Mommy says this is a real thing, but I still maintain I invented the concept all by myself!
